Synopsis
Italie, 1907. Ida Dalser, une jeune femme riche et audacieuse, tombe folle amoureuse d’un jeune homme impétueux : Benito Mussolini. Le couple vit une passion intense et un fils naît de leur union secrète. Bien qu’elle se soit entièrement sacrifiée pour lui, Mussolini la désavoue lorsqu’il accède au pouvoir. Seule face au monstre fasciste, elle ne cessera de lutter pour sa reconnaissance et celle de son fils…Présenté en Sélection officielle au Festival de Cannes 2009, Vincere est aussitôt considéré comme un prétendant sérieux à la Palme d'Or. Lecture politique puissante de la part de Marco Bellocchio, le film donne un rôle en or à Giovanna Mezzogiorno qui offre une prestation fiévreuse, sans oublier Filippo Timi qui fait ressentir parfaitement l'inhumanité dont s'emplit peu à peu Benito Mussolini.
