Synopsis
Évocation, parmi une dizaine, du procès de la célèbre pucelle d’Orléans où Robert Bresson s’est servi de textes authentiques du procès de condamnation, de dépositions et témoignages du procès de réhabilitation. Prix spécial du jury au festival de Cannes! L’histoire ? Après maintes victoires chevaleresques, Jeanne est capturée par le camp adverse puis vendue aux Anglais. Elle est gardée prisonnière au château de Rouen avant de comparaître pour sorcellerie. Du début des audiences au supplice final, le film suit au plus près les minutes authentiques du procès.ROBERT BRESSON
