Synopsis
Karol est polonais, il est coiffeur, sa femme, Dominique est française.Nous faisons leur connaissance pendant le jugement de leur divorce. Selon Dominique, leur mariage n'a pas été consommé, ce que Karol confirme. A l'issue de cette affaire, Karol a tout perdu : l'amour, sa femme, le salon de coiffure acheté avec toutes ses économies. Sans argent, sans passeport, humilié, la police à ses trousses, il ne peut pas retourner en Pologne. Mikolaj, un compatriote rencontré dans le métro où Karol joue sur un peigne pour gagner sa vie, lui vient en aide. Il lui offre aussi un travail que Karol refuse : le meurtre d'un homme. Après son retour en Pologne il ne veut plus être ni inférieur ni même égal aux autres. Il veut être "plus égal". Il se lance obstinément dans diverses entreprises.
